The narrative is divided into twelve chapters ranging from the countryside, lakes and rivers of Silesia’s green lands, via the newly metropolitan city of Katowice, to ‘humankind and its mines’ and photographic impressions of performances given by the Silesian folk song and dance ensemble. |

| Adam Bogusz (1918-2001) was a Silesian photographer. He joined the Związek Polskich Artystów Fotografików (Union of Polish Art Photographers; ZPAF) in 1950 and took part in many of the union’s exhibitions. He was also a committed activist in its Silesian branch. Anna Chojnacka was born in 1914 in Silesia, in the city of Sosnowiec and she died in the nearby city of Katowice in 2007. She joined the ZPAF in 1958 and was an active member of the organisation. The author of numerous exhibitions and photographic series, including “Wśród plastyków śląskich” (Among Silesia’s Visual Artists; 1962), she specialised in cultural themes, social documentation and Polish travel photography. |

Adam Bogusz (ur. 1918, zm. 2001) – śląski fotografik, członek ZPAF od 1950, uczestnik wielu wystaw związkowych i aktywny działacz śląskiej delegatury ZPAF. Anna Chojnacka (ur. 1914, Sosnowiec – zm. 2007, Katowice) – śląska fotograficzka, aktywna członkini ZPAF (od 1958 roku), autorka licznych wystaw i cykli fotograficznych (m.in. “Wśród plastyków śląskich”, 1962), specjalizująca się w tematyce kulturalnej, dokumencie społecznym i fotografii krajoznawczej. |
