The exhibition Monk, Mother and Wound is a selection of works of the German artist Quirin Bäumler. The installation consists of sculptural objects, inverse forms, a framed drawing, a found image and empty space. Emptiness made visible by its surroundings. Bäumler shapes clay that turns into nothing after casting. He tangibly penetrates the surface and inverts the inside and the outside, trying to capture that which lacks any substance. An empty form reduced ad absurdum. Matter as evidence of metaphysics.
