| The publication consists of photographs taken by members of the Warsaw-based Sputnik Photos collective. A cardboard box holds black-and-white and colour photos bound in the form of exercise books and small books. The photos are all of the Vistula River. However, they also encompass both towns and cities connected with the river and the lives of their residents. In the first artistic edition, which was brought out by the Centrum Nauki Kopernik publishing house, itself located on the Vistula, a variety of writers voice their responses to the diverse uses of the documentary photos and comment on the project and the river itself. |

W kartonowym pudełku umieszczono zszyte w formę zeszytów i książeczek fotografie Wisły wykonane przez członków warszawskiego kolektywu Sputnik Photos. Kolorowe i czarno-białe zdjęcia przedstawiają samą rzekę, ale także życie miasta i mieszkańców związane z Wisłą. W pierwszej publikacji artystycznej wydanej przez położone nad Wisłą Centrum Nauki Kopernik różnorodnym użyciom fotografii dokumentalnej odpowiada wielość głosów pisarzy komentujących projekt i samą rzekę. |

| Sputnik Photos is an international photographic collective founded in Warsaw in 2006. Its members include Jan Brykczyński, Agnieszka Rayss, Rafał Milach, Andrei Liankevich, Karolina Gembara, Michał Łuczak and Adam Pańczuk. Sputnik’s photographers specialise in documentary photography and photojournalism and their focus is primarily on transformations occurring in Central and Eastern Europe. They show their work in solo and group exhibitions and their photographs have also appeared in numerous photobooks. |
