‘Narodziny huty’ (1976)

Stanislaw Gadomski was born in 1929 in Silesia in the city of Sosnowiec and he died in the nearby city of Katowice in 2013. A photographer, photojournalist and visual artist, he graduated from the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts in 1954. He worked in Silesia, beginning as a graphic artist for publishing houses and turning to photography later. He ran the photography department of “Panorama”, an illustrated, Silesian weekly, or almost twenty years. As a photographer, he specialised in Poland’s folk traditions, creating sweeping and valuable documentation encompassing the entire country. He was a member of the Związek Polskich Artystów Fotografików (Union of Polish Art Photographers).

Edward Poloczek was born in the Silesian city of Katowice in 1922 and he died there in 1997. A documentary and landscape photographer connected primarily with Silesia, he created numerous exhibitions and was an animateur of the photographic movement. He was an instigator behind the founding of the Silesian branch of the Związek Polskich Artystów Fotografików in 1947 and joined it himself in 1952, going on to serve as its president for many years. He was a keen amateur filmmaker.

Stanisław Gadomski (ur. 1929, Sosnowiec – zm. 2013, Katowice) – fotograf i fotoreporter, artysta plastyk, absolwent ASP w Krakowie (dyplom w 1954 roku), członek ZPAP. Pracował na Śląsku, początkowo jako grafik w wydawnictwach, potem jako fotograf. Przez prawie dwadzieścia lat kierował działem fotografii tygodnika “Panorama”. Specjalizował się w fotografii polskiego folkloru, stworzył jego obszerną i cenną dokumentację obejmującą cały kraj.

Edward Poloczek (ur. 1922, Katowice – zm. 1997, Katowice) – fotograf dokumentalista i pejzażysta związany przede wszystkim ze Śląskiem. Autor wielu wystaw i animator ruchu fotograficznego, inicjator powstania Oddziału Katowickiego Polskiego Towarzystwa Fotograficznego (1947), wieloletni prezes Oddziału Śląskiego ZPAF (członek ZPAF od 1952 roku), zajmował się również filmem amatorskim.
