| The book contains a series of one hundred and twelve colour photos taken in the summer of 2005 by farmers living in Poland’s mountains. Most of the shots depict not only the titular machines, but also their design engineers, seated on the tractors they themselves made. The typology is supplemented by a technical description of each machine on the facing page of each photo. |

Zrealizowany latem 2005 roku cykl tworzy 112 kolorowych fotografii przedstawiających wykonane przez zamieszkujących polskie góry rolników. Większość zdjęć przedstawia nie tylko maszyny, lecz również konstruktorów, którzy siedzą na wykonanych przez siebie traktorach. Typologia uzupełniona jest umieszczonym na stronie przeciwległej do zdjęcia opisem technicznym maszyn. |

| In addition to the cycle of photos, Skąpski also created three videos and ethnological documentation about the ‘machines’ in the form of surveys and conversations recorded on video. |

| Łukasz Skąpski was born in the southern Polish city of Katowice in 1958. A multimedia and performance artist, photographer and teacher, he graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He was a member of Supergrupa Azorro (the Azorro Supergroup), which was founded in 2001 and remained active until 2010. Skąpski teaches at the Faculty of Industrial Design at his alma mater and the Academy of Fine Arts in the north-western city of Szczecin. He is a member of the Związek Polskich Artystów Fotografików (Union of Polish Art Photographers). In his photography, his particular interest is documentary typology. |

Łukasz Skąpski (ur. 1958, Katowice) – artysta multimedialny, performer, fotograf, pedagog. Absolwent Wydziału Malarstwa Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Krakowie. Członek istniejącej w latach 2001-2010 Supergrupy Azorro. Wykładał na Wydziale Form Przemysłowych ASP w Krakowie i na Akademii Sztuki w Szczecinie. Członek ZPAF. W twórczości fotograficznej zainteresowany typologiami dokumentalnymi. |
