| The photobook contains a series of colour photos taken during a residency in China from 2013 to 2014. They depict cyclists and motorcyclists in wet, waterproof capes and were taken after dusk using the titular short flashes. As a result, the figures are sharply sculped against a background inundated in the dusk. |

Cykl kolorowych portretów wykonanych podczas rezydencji w Chinach w 2013-2014 roku przedstawiających rowerzystów i motorowerzystów w mokrych od deszczu pelerynach. Zdjęcia wykonano po zmroku z użyciem tytułowych krótkich błysków lampy co sprawia, że postacie są ostro, rzeźbiarsko rysowane na tle tonącego w mroku drugiego planu. |

| Wiktoria Wojciechowska was born in the city of Lublin in south-eastern Poland in 1991. A graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, she specialises in subjective documentation and series of portraits. The works for her series are taken not only in her birthplace, but also in other countries, such as Ukraine, for “Sparks” and China “Short Flashes”. |

Wiktoria Wojciechowska (ur. 1991, Lublin) – absolwentka Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie, specjalizuje się w subiektywnym dokumencie i cyklach portretowych. Swoje cykle realizowała w rodzimym Lublinie, ale też w innych krajach jak Ukraina (“Sparks”) i Chiny (“Short Flashes”). |
